The K-pop scene continues to expand its global reach, and the UAE recently played host to rising stars The Wind. This six-member South Korean boy group, who debuted in 2023, returned to the UAE for a second time, electrifying crowds at Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi on November 15 and 16.
Initially appearing shy and reserved, The Wind quickly transformed on stage, delivering energetic performances that had the audience on their feet, singing and dancing along. This marked their second visit to the UAE, showcasing their growing international presence.
In an exclusive interview with Gulf News, the group shared insights into their musical journey, their connection with fans, and the artists who inspire them.
“For us, ‘Seventeen’ and ‘Highlight’ are our inspirations. We admire how they’ve maintained great teamwork over such a long time and consistently delivered amazing performances,” said group member An Chanwon. This reveals the group’s focus on longevity and consistent quality, drawing inspiration from established K-pop groups known for their strong teamwork and stage presence.
The Wind officially debuted in May 2023, with Kim Heesoo, 20, taking on the role of leader. The other members include Thanatorn, 19, Park Hayuchan, 17, Choi Hanbin, 17, An Chanwon, 16, and Jang Hyounjoon, 16. The group’s relatively young age adds to their appeal, resonating with a younger demographic of K-pop fans.
