Emirates, the world’s foremost international airline, revealed today a suite of contracts signed with Safran, cumulatively valued at over $1.2 billion. These agreements encompass best-in-class seats for Emirates’ upcoming Airbus A350, Boeing 777X-9, and the existing Boeing 777-300 fleet, along with cabin equipment, wheels, carbon brakes, landing gear component repairs, retrofit services, and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) support.
The primary contract, valued at $1 billion*, focuses on securing the latest generation Safran Seats for Emirates’ new fleet of aircraft, spanning the Airbus A350, Boeing 777X-9, and the current Boeing 777-300 models. Alongside the seats, Safran Cabin will provide Galley shipsets for Emirates’ A350 fleet, adhering to the airline’s high standards in quality and design. The Galleys will boast advanced features, technology, and efficiency, aligning with Emirates’ stringent quality benchmarks.
Safran Landing Systems will furnish high-performance wheels and carbon brakes for the Emirates A350 fleet, ensuring reduced weight and improved cooling for shorter turnaround times and increased fleet availability.
Safran Passenger Innovations is set to equip Emirates with its RAVE AeroConnect Ka solution, offering unparalleled flexibility in entertainment and connectivity across multiple providers and frequencies. This agnostic satcom connectivity solution will be installed in 50 Airbus A350, 60 Airbus A380, and 50 Boeing 777X-9 aircraft.
Moreover, Safran is actively collaborating with Emirates on its retrofit program, supplying new seats for the Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 models.
